I didn't realize you used an ink-wash technique. I am going to have to get some brushes and go back to watercolor work someday, but I likely won't for a long time. I am pretty comfortable with my draft pencil and soft lead detailing for now.

First time I tried it. Well, I paint and did some ink work in Drawing 1, and I've done some water color.

Some more ink working, based on my last Loli Strip. This time, instead of just inking over a finished drawing (which runs into problems with erasing the pencil), I only roughed it out and finished it with ink. The result is much cleaner, but more awkward. I just need practice.

I thought I might as well present the stages a sketch goes through before it's finished. First there's my pencil sketch; I don't yet ink outside the computer yet. I brightness/contrast to darken my lines and get rid of a lot of the erased lines that scan and unerased rough lines I might have missed. Then begins a lengthy process of blocking off areas of color, using masked layers. Eventually I have the base color sketch. Then I add shading and highlights. In this case, I did the background in photoshop, with liberal blurring.

finally got around to doing a color version of Buttercup meditating. Of course, I used her for my new siggy, but here's the full sized version. I'm not sure whether I should shade/highlight her skin or not.

I think she looks good, nice job. But I do think shading/hilighting would add more to it

The reason I usually shy away from highlighing and shading skin is that often I like it better when I haven't done it. Skin highlights are hard.

The human body is all curves. But that's not the issue; if you don't do it right, the person ends up looking they're covered in oil. Plus you can end up making a cute girl ugly.

Not if you keep low on shadow layers... and use a blurry brush...
