Unpassword?

Does anyone know how to extract a file for a passworded zip file? I was looking around my files lately and I found one that was passworded. I can't find/remember the pass and I don't know what's in it. Is there a way or am I boned?

Yes there are ways, but its more like brute-froce hacking.
In other words, programs try to guess the password, you can't hack it out of there.

I am not familiar with those tools, but it is a waste of time.
It may need the program running for weeks/months to try to get the password, and perhaps it won't even work..

Yeah, the point of passwording things is to make it hard for those without the password to get at what is being protected.

Your only hope would be brute forcing it pretty much.

There are ways to bruteforce.
But if the password is more than 10 chars long, it might take days to break it.
