Post What happened to Roriland? Quote
So, I had been browsing roriland.com for loli games for some time, and I found some real gems. More recently, however, the loli game content took a drop in quality, with some games being presented as loli that I don't even know what mental gymnastics led them to that conclusion. The content seems to have gotten better now, with one major hiccup; every game I download from their site can't open on my computer. I try to open the zip file and it gives me a broken/corrupted/missing parts error. Now I barely even bother with the site. Does anyone know what happened? Is the error something to do with my computer, or are they just uploading broken files? What's with the seeming drought? Anyone?

Maybe it's just one or two users uploading recently which could explain the lack of loli content in what is uploaded. It could also explain corrupted or missing files.

What you can do is try redownloading the broken parts. To find out which file is actually the problem, you can use winrar (maybe 7-zip as well) and it find out which files need to be redownloaded

First though use something like Hash calc to see some of the the checksum values of the specific files. Then after you redownload the files, check the checksum values of those files.

If the files have the same checksum values, then your computer is almost definitely downloading correctly because if it is corrupting when downloading then chances are it would end with a different checksum value.

Then check to see if any parts are indeed missing. You'll likely be able to tell if the file sizes of all of the parts are the same since multi-part archives aim for each part having a specific size, and the last part will be smaller. If one of the parts is missing, see if maybe you missed it on the page you downloaded the files from. If you you checked and do have all potential parts and the issue persists, then it is probably not a missing part.

It's also possible you aren't opening the first part of the archive.

Another possibility is that these files weren't multipart archives, but instead was an archive split using a program such as HJsplit. It's not likely though.

Just to be safe, if you're using 7-zip, try updating it. Or maybe try updating whatever program you do use to extract. It's worth a shot. I doubt there's anything wrong with your computer that would cause this issue.

Lastly, maybe the issue is that one of the files is not named correctly. I don't encounter this often, but some people will add the CRC checksum to the file name of each part, which is great for checking if each part downloaded correctly, but as far as I know, no archive program would see those extra files. This tends to stick out to me though.

If you have all of the files you might try using Winrar's repair function. It does't work miracles, but it can sometimes fix small errors depending on if there is a recovery record or not. If it works, then you have a working archive. If it doesn't you would be at least be able to extract the remaining files. Depending on what is being downloaded, this may or may not matter. It's usually worth a try though.

If nothing you try works, I would check to see if all of these files are uploaded by the smae user and if they are, then maybe something is going wrong when they upload them. Or maybe the site is corrupting them or something

So I haven't tried the checksum verification, but it seems this is due is still common with files on roriland. It seems that the u/ls aren't from other users, as this is a private 'blog' style sharing site with affiliations to a paid premium file hosting service (takefile.info). They are either ripping the files too sloppily, or the source they get them from is not too legit.
