DownTHEMall crashes for files over 400kb? |
Quote |
The problem: if in the list of downTHEMall files to download there is a pic over 400kb - dTa downloads it at regular speed (40-50 kb/s) unti exactly half of the file is done, and then my system almost crashes.
By almost crashes I mean: the dTa speed for that file becomes around 1-2kb/5-10seconds, and in the task manager, CPU usage is at 100%. and FireFox memory usage becomes elevated - but nothing critical mind you - 150 megs or so.
The "Solution": If the file is removed from the list, everything resumes normally and the rest of the files get downloaded fine (unless one of them is also over 400kb.)
My system: winXP home SP1, FireFox 1.5, DownTHEMall 0.9.8.4, 2.2ghz, 1024mb ddram.
Any ideas?
Is there a newer version of downTHEMall? Does this not happen on older versions of FF?

When in doubt, I do save them manually, but 180 pics manually ;_;
And yes, Firefox 1.5 does still have some weird bugs. I've just recently encountered localstoe.rdf messed up and bookmarks lost one.
Nonetheless, it is aeons ahead of IE. (To be honest, I don't even know if IE is installed on my machine. After I first installed Fx, I went on a IE-hate binge, and I think I've erased it then.)

Just remove the 400+kb files and download those manually, and in the mean time, explain the bug here so that it may be fixed in later versions
