Which standalone flash player do you recommend to play jukan ace or any game like it? I don't like using my browser for the reasons you said. I downloaded shockwave player but it will not even run, I tried flash movie player and it just flies through the game like a movie and I don't know what else to try.
If possible could you link to the stand alone adobe flash player? I went to adobe's site and only saw the browser version and updated that to the most recent version at least. It could be because of the lack of sleep I'm getting but I feel like a noob right now.

Adobe Flash Player Developer Version (from Adobe Labs), not the browser plug-in.
There is no other that I would use... I mean these folks invented flash. Because I definitely wan't the best, I grab the developer version off Adobe Labs in order to have a flash player which I can use outside the browser. For flash software which has a .swf file that will start the game, it's perfect because it fits your screen fully and perfectly with no scrolling required.
I am using Adobe Flash Player 10 (WinXP or later). I tend to continue using whichever version I have until I detect trouble and then upgrade to the next newer version. Adobe Flash Player 10 developer version was released in 2008 and is no longer hosted on Adobe Labs. You can, however, probably find it on Adobe's support page, their archive page, or shareware sites. But..... the next version, Flash Player 10.1 Release Candidate 2 is available now at Adobe Labs. I have it and will install it when the browser plug-in version becomes available.
Adobe makes great flash software but their site is sorta geeky and it's difficult to find anything... soo, I keep these links in a text file in the folder where my Adobe downloads are stored. If you don't want to save this, a google search which might get you there, would be something like "adobe stand alone flash player". Hope this helped.

Thanks for the help gumbai, I appreciate it. Turns out I downloaded the flashplayer 10 archive this morning, but I passed out before I could extract and do anything with it (I pulled another all night-er). Your links let me know I had the right page, file and all, so thanks again.

I'm having real trouble getting Nekoken Elf Princess to work.
I've extracted the file, but the 'start.exe' will only run the menu. When I click on any chapter, I just have the UI, and nothing else.

Maybe you can help me with a witty solution ? 
(I precise that I set my computer in japanese regional settings and rebooted after that, but that doesn't change anything, I've got this awfully blank flash window)
EDIT :
Damn... I've just settled the problem, sorry for complaining. If that can help some people with the same problem, I moved the content from the folder called "淫界の森 エルフ姫の帰り道" to the root folder, and everything worked perfectly. Don't know why by the way...
