What are warnings for?

I've never been to a forum with "warnings" before.

I notice I've now collected two gold warnings trophies under my avatar. Is there some "grand prize" for collecting a certain number Ã¢â‚¬â€ for example, three warnings earns me a permanent ban from the forums? Or are they just there to remind us not to get them?

Nothing about it in the FAQ at all. (Maybe someone could add a brief explanation?)

Another question: if a person thinks they've fully got the hang of the FAQ Ã¢â‚¬â€ can they reset their warnings to 0 and start a new game? I think it would be pretty easy for newbies to get warnings, given that some of the FAQ rules are vague, and some aren't even on the FAQ at all (like you can't mention certain things here).

3 Warnings = Temporary Ban
4 Warnings = Permenant Ban

And no, warnings don't go away.

There ARE other rules besides those in the FAQ, you know. >.> Although I've usually felt that they should all be gathered together or at least cross posted.

Other forums I've been on has had similar systems in place, but I've never seen them used. There will be a place for "Warnings" somewhere, but the mods and admins don't take advantage of them.

The rules that aren't mentioned yet one gets warnings/topic deleted for fall under the category of common sense usually...

Is the artist who drew this trying to emulate something that is illegal as closely as possible, or even using illegal subject matter as the basis for the picture? If so then it doesn't belong here and it never will.

Are you trying to bend the rules as much as possible? This is definately a way to make the mods love you (I love some people so much I have ban hammers with their names carved in them).

Are you trying to bring up words related to, or especially discuss illegal subject matter on LAH? I'll give you a nice boot escorted trip out the door if I see you try it.
