 Password for WinRAR |

I am new to making .rar files and I am trying to add a password, but I don’t think it’s working. I used Ctrl+P to open the “Enter Default Password†window and inputted a password, but; when I tried to teat it. The file didn’t ask for a password.
What I doing wrong?

What I doing wrong?
If you really have to use “Enter Default Password†you will need to first start WinRAR, then put your pass in “Enter Default Passwordâ€Â, then create an archive with RAR's browser (but you can do many that way without needing to care about the pass as it will be the same then). If you create the archive first setting the default pass for future actions will have no effect.
For myself, it is better because easier for my purposes to use the right-click menu, take the option 'Add to archive...' to let the options appear, go to the 'Advanced' tab and enter the pass I want there (as beautifully shown above, even when embedding the pic is against our rules).
I hope that is understandable enough for a rar-rookie (no offense meant, we all start some time) like you.

Edit: deliciousflatchest just found out in only sets the password for the file/s that were added updated
