I have a request to ban it if it is allowed. Gif sigs are hard on me already.
Every time I hit a page with one on it, it takes at least 10 X the time to load.

He most probably wants a flash or maybe even java signature.
Which you just cannot have.
Almost nobody uses a gif sig here. if a particular one is too big for you, try nuking it with the adblock extension for ff.
