Files that I download keep randomly stopping! |
Quote |
Opera, Firefox, Internet Explorer-- it's doing the same thing!
To be a little more descriptive, a few days ago when I got my internet hooked up (I'm on vacation from my job) I've been experiencing random stops from my downloads. What ticks me off the most is that most of my downloads are coming from MegaUpload. Since I was given a site of a huge array of H-Movies that are free, I've been wanting to go on a downloading spree. But because of this problem, whenever I'm happy that my download goes to 82%, it just stops for no damn reason!
Because of this, I have to end up starting over ALL OVER AGAIN! This isn't just normal downloads either, it's even stopping uploaded videos from Youtube and any other place that requires a download of some sort.
*sigh*, this is just not my vacation at all.. It's torture!

Maybe using a download manager could solve the download problem? most of the download manager (e.g. Free Download Manager) can restore downloads which were stopped in the middle. but no idea for youtube and stuff.

I had the same problam. Just download a manager like mentioned above. It's the best thing you can do. I recomend "Free Download Manager", since most others well... suck.

I use getright, lol.
Well, general advice would be running a spyware scan.

Well, it would suck if the download stopped while you try to download the download manager (hope it isn't so).

Most arn't that big, so it probably wouldn't matter.
Although, if you couldn't download it at all...

Originally, I would've already thought of that. But this is Megaupload we're talking about here. You know their policy: Download Accelerators only work on Premium accounts. And I really don't feel like dishing out money for it just to fix my problem.
Besides, I already have an accelerator installed (DAP and Getright) and that doesn't solve my Megaupload problems.

I'll be doing that shortly.
