here a quote from the Rules and FAQ page.
What is HXXP?
HXXP is a way to prevent webcrawlers to follow links on LAH. If you simply click on the link, it will appear as if it wouldn't work.

We are a community of tolerance, so as we ask it of others it's good if we give it as well ne?
Except the people who request on their first post. BAD LURKER WE SHALL PUNISH THEE.
Out side of that we should be as patient with new people as they are often unfamiliar with the environment etc. As a general rule it's good to point them to the rules. We all do that, they read them and they either grow with the community or return to lurking or if they really cross the line they get banned.
It's not a bad system, but I can also see why you would get aggravated at people who generally ignore the common sense of reading the rules for the stomping ground.
Either way I think patience and kindness go a long way in welcoming people to our community. If they abuse that then we remove them from our community

Once again, it's all about who they are.
Newbs should be nurtured until they can stand on their own two feet and become a valuble member.
Noobs are deserving of hatred. We should do our best to ridicule them, and make them feel bad.

Meh semantics I think that more is obtained with honey than vinegar regardless of how you wish to label what you are trying to catch or encourage.
