I didn't say they had anything to do with it dilithium crystal recystalization. The dilithium crystals regulate the matter/anti-matter reaction within the warp core. I was just saying I know the pseudo-science involved. (Oh, I see : when I said "THEY recrystalize the ect.", I meant they as in the enterprise crew.

The Heisenberg compensators are specifically for removing the uncertainty factory from the measurement of atomic and sub-atomic particles while a mass is being materialised/dematerialised in the ACB.

But it's not actually explained HOW the Heisenberg Compensators do that --- so you can get around any physical law by making up some sort of "Compensator" device.

The warp drive has also been used for some outlandish things; but you're right about the Deflector, they can do just about anything with it --- sealing Times Rifts, siphoning off dust in atmospheres, attacking borg cubes, to travel at unreasonably high warp speeds (which are outlandishly fast, anyway) . . .
