surgery is inevitable now , i decided on the least invasive one i could get to limit my time laid up so three days in the hospital and then three days at home followed by light duty at work for two weeks

I hope that least invasive is still fully effective so you won't have to go through that kind of thing again. A week of primary recovery is a lot better than it used to be. Do you have any idea when the operation will be?

so heres my update im looking at losing between 8 to 10 inches of colon and a upwards of a week in the hospital also im not going to the convention because i dont know if i will be healed up enough for a weekend convention

That's not good. That's more than removing polyps. Do you have medical coverage? Anyone to help you while you have to recover?

Good luck with the surgery and any follow-up treatment. That's the most important thing of all. Taking care of the problem as soon as possible so that you can start to get better.

Yeah, the medical insurance from work is going to cover most of it and my roommate will help once i get home they will encourage me to walk, so Taco Bell will be my norm as will photography and magic the gathering

so a current update.
i have a ct scan and blood work day after tomorrow thats going to cost me 200 dollars as a copay.
the surgery and hospital stay will be fully covered as of today

With the cost of American health care, that sounds like a very good bargain. It can cost thousands of dollars for any of those things. Do you have any idea of what the procedure is going to take place?

So I got some good news today
the results of this morning's ct scan came back good, no issues i needed good news

Does the CT result suggest that nothing has spread, meaning it is still localized and can likely be dealt with via surgery? Or is it about some other aspect of your condition?

If the surgery is the 14th, will you be going in early on that day or going into the hospital the night before?

both the ct and blood work shows no migration into surrounding tissue .
my appointment is the 14th at noon.
as for the actual surgery im hoping its within that timeframe now i have to figure out the copay

Then that is good news. Catching it early enough for surgery to work is crucial.

I imagine that the lost work hours will be a bigger bite than the copay. It can be hard when you're just getting by.
