You'll see Taro and Tsuru-rin together on a motor cycle in that chapter, they are a cute couple. On the subject of Tsuru-rin and why the two of them are floating in mid air.

Tsuru-Rin is a Chinese girl with amazing paranormal powers. Despite her frail looks and tiny posture (she's actually the oldest of the two children in the Tsun household) she's a really powerfull socceress. She's able to fly, use telekinesis and mangetism. What makes her cool is the fact that she also has an attitude, she silences her lolier brother by magnetically throwing knifes at him and she blew up a haunted mansion because the ghosts were disturbing her sleep.

Taro is really all over her the moment they meet.

Tsuru-rin's brother Tsuku-Tsun looks just like Yamucha from Dragonball.

The first episode of the original eighties series.
Tsuru-rin doesn't appear in this one, her first appearence happens a few seasons later.

In the Late nineties "Dr. Slump" was completely revamped and it resulted in this.
The characters look different but I guess it's not all too difficult to recognize leadcharacter Arale.

If the style looks familiar, the series was done by Akira Toriyama, the author of Dragonball Z

I have seen it whole and own all the manga. It's really funny and certainly worthwhile to watch/read.
