(Edited) Ok i made some kind of a mess, sorry i'm not used to write on boards but i wanted to help people so i decided to rewrite it with more precise info, i should have investigated fully before posting, i'm sorry.
after a lot of messing around i found out that if you get a pack of pictures for the game to use for girls and the files are outdated you need to update them with the editor that comes with the game's last version.
In the editor there is a FAQ tab where you can figure out how the file works there is however one wrong information on the FAQ there since it says that only .jpg picture format works, that is wrong i successfully loaded other formats such as jpeg, png and even animated gif (and the animation works)
my game was always crashing and i ended up pinpointing why, one of the random girl folder, that was in the pack contained to many traits... they ad like about 50% of all existing traits possible in the game, that was to much for the game... after removing a lot of them the game stopped crashing, so its one thing you can look out for specially if you found the same pack as i did.
the folder can contain a LOT of pictures without issues, the folder i got contained almost 300 profile picture for specific random girls.
on the forum people also say you need 1 file for 1 folder, that seems to be wrong also, the editor actually gather all the girls in the same file (as far as random girls go)
so the way it works, if you don't have a .girlsx and/or .rgirlsx file you need to update it with the new file format in the editor, if its a text file open it up with notepad and save it as .girlsx or .rgirlsx and load it in the editor, the editor is supposed to fix any coding issues from the file, so save it (keep a backup of the old one just in case)
don't forget the the .girlsx, .rgirlsx files need to be in the folder named characters folder that is located in the resources folder of the game, when loading the file in the editor you will see a list of names to the right, make sure the folders with the corresponding pictures are in the characters folder as well and is spelled exactly the same as the name in the file (i don't know if its case sensitive or not but i would not take any chances)
If the game crashes look for a girl/rgirls... (edited yet again, sorry) The girl probably as to many traits enabled that makes the game crash, i just tested back with the old file to make sure and pinpointed exactly the limit, not more then 60 traits are allowed by the game, the pack i had ad not far from 120... but ya if you have over 60 traits in the pack for a specific girl type in rgirlsx... then remove some with the editor or by removing the entire line in notepad... 60 is plenty anyways, if you really want to have all of them you always have the options to copy the folder and name it "loli2" or something like that and just copy the original one in the editor and update the title as loli2 then make sure they both have complimentary traits that you want 1/2 in each + some that will be true for both, you should come across both of them and they will have the same pictures since the folder will be duplicated, the only issue with that is it will take more disk space if you have a lot of pictures in there but, pictures are not that big.
that should resolve you issues with game crashes or girls not loading, worst case scenario remake the file from scratch with the editor using the original file opened in notepad (i did that to investigate what went wrong)
i noticed... i added somewhat like 5 folders maybe... demons... catgirls, furry, normal, fairies oh and slime... so that makes 6... when i did the file with 2 of the girl type they did show up, both type, but when i added the 3rd one the ones from the 2nd pack did not show and when i added the 4th the ones from the 3rd did not show anymore, and when i added normal, i only see normal ones now, i think it as to do with the tag "not human" they are probably more rare to see natively in the city since they are "monster type" i'm trying to investigate if i can find all of them in a place called catacomb but i have not figured out how to get there yet in the game, took me a wile to figure out how to make this work and i ad to sleep at some point. so i will investigate that today.
another fun fact is, you can kind of cheat with the editor, don't cheat to much or you will break the fun in the game, but making the game a bit more easy or tweaking it to your liking is fun, or if you just want to test content to see if all is loaded properly, the editor can also edit the config for the game (i suggest making a copy of the original before overwriting it) theirs a lot of useful thing such as lowering the cost of things, control pregnancy rates and other such things, check it out if you like, its easy to figure out, just don't play to much with the window size thing... i did to make the frame smaller but the display would not follow the window size so that option is kind of broken at the moment...
you can also make your own packs just by following the instructions, i believe you can also create/edit items and traits to your liking. theirs a lot of user made stuff with that game on there official board, check it out, i believe its even possible to create events end such, probably trough scripts, but i have not looked into that yet.
i hope this is more clear then my first mess of a post... even if it is a wall of text i hope you will understand well and figure out how to make it work if your having issues.
