I don't know what to say one way or the other about the hybrid of graffitti and lolicon as it is presented in your art style. I kinda like it, but I have mixed feelings. The thick ink and sharp black-and-white contrast is striking and the subject matter is sincere (though risque'), although I must say I prefer to see this style on murals depicting more conventional urban scenarios (skateboarding, dancing, crude 3D lettering).

Even if it's not MY thing, you've caught on to something here.

Perhaps a wee bit of an artist's statement is in order :

What is presented here is frequently little more than line art. It is the first stage in a process which I rarely see through to completion. While I feel comfortable in displaying them here, I do not consider them 'finished'. They have, however, more than likely been abandoned. By the time a sketch reaches this stage, I've already moved on to something else, and don't bother to complete it. They remain as line art because shading interferes with any colorizing process I want to take on in the future (which I always hold out hope for despite my awareness that I rarely do so).

Perhaps people would prefer if I shaded my sketches, or took the time to move on to color?

(I don't think I've ever had my art compared to grafiti before . . . I'm not sure if I should feel puzzled or ever so slightly insulted . . . hm . . .)

I'm happy to have another furry. Sorry it's on lined paper; I started it in class. (I should put some computer paper in my binder . . . )

The face still isnt' right, I've gone too far the other way . . .

Ah! Saccharin poisoning!

(Saccharin is an artificial sweetener, FYI anyone who wonders.)

Very cute. The look may not be your style, but you certainly do it well regardless of your preference towards it.

Lined paper, who cares? More great art from you, is what matters. You've got skills. In fact, if we were 5-7 years in the past, I'd attest that said skills could in fact, pay the bills.

But that's an old cliche now.

Anyway, I'm done babbling on. Keep on drawing, and I'll keep on commenting.

I think maybe I'm getting closer with my Furry Loli . . . although I think maybe the eyes don't look loli enough?

The other one's just me futzing with photoshop.

Don't feel insulted. I was reffering to the creative, striking style of proffesional urban murals and not just slopped-on vandalism. Also, you seem to be a very talented youthful artist that is improving quickly. I anticipate your progression.

I was just kidding, 4stray. I'm always struck by what people say about my work (be it loli or one of my art classes, or even a short story.) Other people say things I never would have thought myself.

Anyway, I've had nothing but time recently (and will have for another few weeks), so I took the time to do a full color piece.

I would say Feather's work is very "Anime Style" even the furries. But "Anime Style" is all relative anyway, it orginates from 1950's Walt Disney. The style was brought to Japan and over many decades evolved into what we know today as Anime.

Feather: I am curious, in your last post there, did you color using acrylics or did you do that in Photoshop?

acrylics. I did use photoshop to correct her skin tone, because I wasn't happy with the color I mixed. I prefer working with my hands then my trackpad.

I like that natural style of yours and how you do so much off the computer. Most of the time after I have made a sketch then a clean lines copy, I rarely do anything further with it off a computer.

I used to play around with alot of artistic materials but photoshop has made me lazy Feather Kawaii 2

There's nothing wrong with using photoshop, if that's what you're comfortable with. I'm a bit of a purest, I guess, but really, whatever works, works.
