 Requesting a feather-chan for maintenance page |

Hello artists, I'm requesting a feather-chan to be displayed in a new "LAH is under maintenance" page.
This page will be displayed whenever we do prolonged updates.
I've attached some concepts of the maint page using the current feather-chan so you can have an idea of the context.
I don't really have anything specific in mind, maybe some tools or a toolbox or an engineer cap, well, anything that resembles maintenance/internal work should do fine. 
Image sizes can be anything from what is in the pic (~140x170) to twice or more times that size - I have no problem resizing it if necessary.
Please upload in png format with transparent background.

Meanwhile, trying to find a fitting bg and button position and color.
Also, the gradient we were planning to use doesn't quite match our default bg (pic5). Maybe some box shadows may help.

The 4th one looks the best for me but the first line's center should be aligned to the center of the 2nd line.

Yeah Frz, I thought that to center-align the button we should center align the text too right after I took that screenie.
Added some blurred lightgrey text-shadow to the button's text so the black isn't so heavy on the orange. Still experimenting with shadows.

One more, again with centered text but this time with a very small inset shadow. It makes the color changes less abrupt IMO without having that terrible attention-whore neon.
Guess this is getting closer to final. Maybe we can make the box larger with a larger feather-chan and a heading.

I'm not fan of the neon effect. If you want a glowy feel, you might want to make it less "wide". Then again, it's just my taste in the matter, you can do smooth without having those neons. 
Need to finish a project first, or at least a good part of it before working on this pic. Will try to deliver as soon as I can. I have an overall idea already, will, of course, keep it SFW, but might make it a bit teasing if that's alright Also, can work with the text, like putting it in a speech ballon or something like that.
And np, happy to be of some help for this great site.

Yay thanks. =] No hurry, that screen isn't the highest priority atm for us either but it would be nice to have one of those for our extended planned maints. I'll just use the current feather-chan for the update we have planned for this week so no worries with deadlines.
Yeah the neon effect calls too much attention, but the glow outside should help easing the change of backgrounds. I've set up some live prototypes: with glow / without glow.

About text I'm not too sure, text will most likely change before release. If you can make the bubble in another layer and post one png with it and one without the bubble I'd glad.  With a concept, I can easily reproduce it with HTML/CSS if necessary and it'd automatically adjust to the text content.

In this case I meant that I (poor man, who has no knowledge about web design) tried to make a useful comment highlighting an obvious thing (because I have only water).

I've been trying to normalize the glow, but what annoys me is that both Firefox and Chrome support the standard W3C property for the box-shadow yet their renderings still differ significantly. You can see that Chrome's blur is sharper, that is, if you open the glow demo in both Chrome and Firefox you will notice that Firefox's glow is more blurry. I guess this can't be helped, no use in putting hacks for Chrome when their shadow rendering may change in future. It looks ok in Chrome and Firefox, just that Firefox/Safari/Opera's glow is a bit more blurry/spread than Chrome's.

Yeah, dunno about the "what the hell" face 'cause those maints were supposed to go under our control. But it could look nice depending on how it's drawn. I didn't give specific ideas initially to don't restrain the artists' creativity. As long as it resembles maintenance it should do fine. Though the "what the hell" face would match the ones from people seeing the forum offline.

This would be more fitting for a "server down issue" page than maintenance, I think.
