My first scan |
Quote |
Been a member for a long time and never really contributed anything.
So, I hope you all like this sketch, it's the first thing i've ever scanned onto my hard drive.
I'm still a mooch though and would appreciate any tips on color, not my forte.
I'll try to clean up some more sketches if you guys like it.

Thanks for drawing/scanning/sharing. I hope you stay and practice with the rest of us.
I happen to like little winged girls of all kinds.

Thanks, i can't think of a better place to share this hobby.
In fact I can't think of any other place at all where I could show this stuff.

It's a very different style. It looks very cubism, I kind of like your style as it is. I look forward to seeing you develop it.

Really enjoying your style. I like the use of the tapered curves to show pudginess around the waist.
For Coloring your sketches I'd recommend GIMP, it's free and once you figure it out it does almost everything you'd want to do in Photoshop for this application. I know because I have a legit copy Photoshop CS5 for my job and I still default to GIMP for anything that doesn't involve manipulating a real photo. I find GIMP is a better application for image creation where Photoshop is better for image editing. Although I'm sure there are plenty of people out there that will start a religious war over that statement.

I'm enjoying your art a lot. The style is indeed unique, and expressive too. Your characters have a lot of presence, which is often not an easy thing to achieve. Keep it up!

Nice pictures! Love them!
About coloring i prefer the Easy Paint Tool Sai with my works.
My methods:
1) scan a picture
2) open/import it with your drawing program
3) create a layer on it
4) on this layer create the linework
5) delete/make invisible the original sketch
6) create another layer under the linework layer and do the coloring
(i often use 10-20 layers separately for the skin, the cloths, the hair, the background etc. to the easy modification.)
I hope we'll see more work from you!
Seven

here's some more sketches that were either easier to clean up or ones I particularly liked
Thanks for the support guys. I've been learning up gimp but not satisfied enough with my ability to post anything color.
@seven thanks for tips, although sometimes it's difficult to let go of the original linework
edit:added a color attempt
