Ekicon Research Society Games (Newest release available!)

Okay so before the review, this is the DMM version and it is possible that there will be an updated version released later down the line. There is a fantia version out but it just has less censorship. I would also like to mention that I am a huge fan of this artist's work in general.

THE REVIEW:

tl:dr this is worth picking up (buying) if you want to support the creator but the quality is lower than the almost 2 year wait would suggest.

OVERVIEW:

This game is similar to hxxps://www.dlsite.com/maniax/work/=/product_id/RJ237409.html in that it is 'just' a collection of scenes with a small walk around to each character and navigating a series of menus to get the different scenes. There is no other gameplay, just select the girl and go through the menu options.

CONTENT (DMM version):

There are 7 characters each with their selection of scenes. They go in order of warmup to climax in the menus for each. There are a variety of types of scenes but all the characters have both oral and vaginal portions while a couple have extras. There is no RPG element of combat or team formation or items, it all takes place in 1 room.

2 straight shota scenes, can be toggled off by taking to the green haired kid (kenta).
2 female toddlercon scenes via the purple haired girl
1 (mild)watersports scene with the bowl cut brown haired girl.
The rest of the scenes are mostly copy-pastes of default vaginal, oral and anal scenes for each character

PROS:

It is a new Ekicon game after about 2 years.
It features 7 characters
sounds effects are okay
has x-ray on most scenes
easy to see all the scenes no brain required

CONS:

Expensive for the small amount of content relative to other games.
Lack of any RPG gameplay that the previews and title screen show.
Most of the sex scenes are just a copy-paste of each other just switching out the characters, only.
Lots of dialog in text but very little voice acting, about 6 unique lines per character the rest are just re-done.
No extra interaction scenes to go with the sex, just kinda jumps right into it.
The sex scenes only use about half of the screen while the rest is a faded out overworld.
There are a lot of menus to navigate, you may need to write down your choices to avoid picking the same option twice.
Only 2 straight shota scenes
Only 2 toddlercon scenes
No Impregnation scenes
Requires no effort to see all the scenes bar the bomber-man minigame

CONCLUSION:

This game is ok, not great not terrible. I was hoping for something amazing after seeing all the previews and the creator's earlier attempt at an RPG styled game. I like having to do a bit of work to get the scenes unless the game is a story like first ones they made. Not sure if I would class this as a cash grab because of the clear effort that goes into them but it is pretty close. Reminds me of the 'Our Caretaker' game where something went wrong and an unfinished product was the result. I would love it if there was an updated version posted at some point but I doubt it will happen.

Ironically my favorite scenes were with the brown haired lolier girl just by default as some were not re-skins of the other scenes.
Worth a buy, if you can, to support the creator but realistically too expensive for the content you are getting.

From the previews there should be an older teen/woman with a shota wearing fuzzy ears not sure if that got cut though.

I'm a bit confused with this one, in the fantia posts it looked like you could go outside, but in the actual game (DMM version) everything takes place inside the house?
I think he thought that if he was ever going to finish the game compromises had to be made. Also can you share please.

I poked around the game files and there was definently plans for more rpg stuf. Several maps and several caracter sprites that go unused.
I still hope that either the fantia version or some sort of update to that version happens and whe'll finally see this game blossom to what we where so hyped about.

I think updates or even paid DLC is likely seeing as the main game is labeled a gallery mode and that it shows what characters are available when you start.

It was rejected in the early stages of development.
I can't find how much I'm looking for in the game.
