A critique or two, please? :3 |

I'm mostly digital and just started doing loli stuff. Seems my flash drive that had my old drawings is lost to space and time so I'll have to renew my stocks
Anyways, would love if someone were to leave a critique or comment to help me improve, thanks!

Hello Tepplin7days,
Welcome to LAH and thank you for adding artwork to this forum! I think that your little troll Zazanni is cute. Because you asked for constructive comments and because I also work with digital art, I would suggest that you add a new layer to your picture for shading. In my example, I added a new layer - set to "Multiply" with 70% opacity - so the color blends in with that one below. I then made the shadows on Zazanni a little darker. I think that you need a stronger dark contrast to help balance the bright blue and bright red. I think that having a dark center in the eyes is better too. Adding a little background helps balance the picture.
Please notice that I did not change Zazanni's shape - I think that you did fine there. It's just that the bright red and bright blue colors stand out very strongly and dark shadows help a bit. I hope to see more from you. Peace.

Praise from Caesar is praise indeed!
I figured I was going too soft with the shading, even though she wasn't in direct sunlight. I also appreciate that you did a touch up on the pic as an example, I learn better through visual. I do the shading on the layer but didn't really think to use an opacity layer for it. Thank you, thank you for the tips! <3

Looking good Tepplin!
I think it could be improved a bit by making the edges a bit more defined (the head, and hair particularly).
The chin, kind of blends in with the rest of the body a bit too much, so some more well defined lines here would probably help.
be sure to smooth out your lines too by using the smudge tool with low hardness, and the softener tool also on low hardness).
Looking forward to seeing an update on the picture
