Maybe your irc client has some vulnerabilities, try upgrading to the newest version...
or maybe you can try with another port, like 6666 or 6668

do you use normal mirc or another mod? if so your mod can be in conflict with the server try changing server to see if its the server or simply change the mod for the mirc
