Yes, the game works perfectly in Vista. Just make sure that you have set your PC to Japanese regional settings.

Yes the game work fine in my computer with vista and applocal in japaness. You can just set the Exe of the game in administrator mod (right clic on the exe) for the game launch.

Hopefully somebody cares enough to read this. I have a problem in that, I have downloaded the MB 2 torrent. Used Applocal to install all 3 disks (to default directory). The installation process went off without a hitch, I inserted a new disk when prompted and continued.
After installation, every time I attempt to run the program I get an error message. I am running it in Japanese (as almost every help thread I have seen on this and other games demands that you do) and almost immediately after double clicking the icon I always receive the "メイデン２.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close" Error. Prompts if I want to send the report to microsoft... you know what error I'm talking about.
It's annoying as fuck, and I've tried all manner of different things to get it working. I've tried it w/out the nocd patch, just simply mounting the disk (I have tried w/ all 3 disks mounted). I have tried w/ the patch (patch of course ran in Japanese) and the patch itself seems to run fine, (renames my old .exe file to .old). And yet after that, when I try to run the program... I receive the same error. I'm so disheartened... Been downloading this for days behind my g/f's back... was supposed to play and have some fun tonight, but I"ve been all night trying to get it to run. 
Anyone else encountered this before? I'd love to know if you have, and know a work around to this problem. Eternal gratitude and all that.

I also uber pissed coz maiden breeder, Ether Vapor and Magic Battle Arena won't Run. I blew alotta cash on bandwidth on these and I got Frackall to show for it. Can anyone please help?

I haven't had any luck yet, but I'm gonna keep chipping away at this. Also trying links from various sources as I suspect there's something not quite right with Fuutafan's upload. As soon as I've made any progress I'll be sure to let you know.

Damn. I got a whole new torrent of this and it still fails. As for the 1.095 patch on TeaTime, for some reason, it doesn't work on my compy. It unpacks, but nothing happens. Just what is it supposed to do?
Further: I think it may be something to do with Windows XP SP3's *supposed* improved functionality and compatibility. I was thinking of upgrading to Vista for a while and now I have a reason, lol.
Currently uninstalling SP3 before I spend another €200 on something that I won't need.
Alright, that didn't work.

It says Please insert the original disk. I don't see Daemon tools in that screen shot so my first guess is you're not mounting the image file.
And yes, I'm having the same problems as Azr and Squark.

I can think of two things it could be. I think I got this too, and it's not really a "Maiden * Breeder 2" needs to close error.
While Vista supports Eastern Languages by default and without needing a restart, it does require a full Japanese conversion... On XP it's all under Languages and Regional Settings in the Control Panel. Not sure how Vista is set up.
The other thing it could be is a "Missing / Incorrect CD" error message. After install the game needs one of the images to remain in the drive tray - I think it's CD 3, unless you're using the "No DVD" crack, which presents its own problems. Bear in mind that the torrents in this thread (and fuutafan's upload) are all for the CD version, not the DVD version. Hope this helps.

I got fuutafan's 4 part download. Sucessfully installed it and got it to run.
First thing of course you need the cd in. It may just be cd 3, but I always mount all 3 back up anyway.
Also I changed the name of the folder and the exe to mb2.
after that all i had to do is run with applocale and it worked. I dont think I did much else besides that.
