Here's another attempt with regular shading effects. This one's from a Doujin featuring Kagami from Lucky Star.
Edit: On the e-Hentai galleries thing-I hope and pray they'll let me keep the doujin up on their site. Good thing I didn't tag it for lolicon anyway. Mikoto's only semi-loli and there are only two pages featuring lolis-one is full clothed (although highly suggestive) and the other is nude but not really suggestive at all. lol
I'm hoping they reverse the decision at some point-I'd only just discovered the place and now the thing that I was using it for the most is gone.

Here's something I've started on. It's a short Tales of the Abyss doujinshi titled "Junbi Gou" and it features Anise and a futanari Tear (although you can't tell she's futanari from this first page). I'm hoping someone might be willing to translate it-I've already done the work of clearing out the Japanese text (I'd of course provide the original version or a link to it at least). Even if not, it's still good practice for me and I think it's a pretty good doujin even without knowing what the characters are saying. It's very short, like four or five pages for the main story. Here's the first page colorized with text removed.

The next page. Working on this slowly but surely. I'll probably add blush effects and such once I have all the pages done so I can actually keep the coloration consistent (the blur effect makes it difficult to sample for future pages and I'm usually to lazy to create a special palette or anything).
I also just bought a book at my library's book sale about drawing manga-although I think it only features adult characters-not sure if there any "How to Draw Manga" books that at least include a section on drawing children in them. lol
Someone needs to create a "How to Draw Lolicon" book.
Edit: Went ahead and added the next page since the topic doesn't exactly need "bumped" atm anyway.
Only two more pages are left in the "main story" after that it's pretty much art pages which I may end up colorizing as well if I feel like it although I'm not sure whether I know who all the characters are since I think there's at least one page featuring characters from a different RPG or anime.

One more page to go for the main story bit. That last page is nearly done-I think I'll be able to post it tonight and it'll probably have the blush effect on it since it's the last main-story page. Then I'll go back and add that to the previous pages.
The rest of the doujin is art-type pages which I'll probably add color to as well but I think at least one of them features characters from an anime or video game I'm not familiar with so I might post the raw page to see if anyone can tell me who the characters are so I can look them up and figure out which colors I need to use for them.
Here's a copy of the original doujin posted on exhentai: hxxp://exhentai.org/g/111163/1321ad4e2f/
Pages 07 and 08 have characters on them that I'm not familiar with so I can't really give them colorations with any accuracy.

Here's the last page of the main story. I've also updated all the previous pages with the blush effect plus a few extra fixes here and there. Again, it would be helpful if someone could tell me who the characters are on the 7th and 8th pages.

Sorry I haven't posted anything new for awhile, I just didn't feel in the mood to do any more colorizations for awhile, but I've done another one just today so I thought I'd share it.
I again experimented with the use of altered photo backgrounds and throwing a few extra lighting effects in.
Edit: Two more, again I'm experimenting with using various effects to enhance the shading and such.
I'm not sure if I'll ever come up with any kind of simple effect that will be 100% satisfactory, though.
The second one took a bit longer both because there were more colors and I also had to work on extending the bed sheets because of the way it was originally framed.

I'm starting up another translated piece, this time from Fundamental 11. I'm kinda starting in the middle though. I've got three images to post tonight-one is a single frame from an issue of Comic Rin and the last two are my work so far on Fundamental 11.
Decensoring is fairly easy for this one because the black bars aren't entirely opaque so I just do some brightness adjustments and a little bit of work on making it blend together and that's pretty much it.

Thanks, it's nice to get comments on my work every now and again. lol
I've done another single frame-this from a Mitsudomoe doujin. Never seen the series so I had to some Googling to make sure I got the colors right.
I also discovered that using the pencil tool instead of the brush allows me to get things done A LOT faster because the hard edges allow the fill tool to work on the whole thing instead of requiring me to trace over the parts it misses. This should reduce the time I takes me to work on these things by about half I'd imagine-of course it's sort of another "duh!" moment for me like the time I decided to try using the fill tool in the first place instead of coloring everything entirely "by hand". lol
I also used layer masks for the background bits this time instead of a layer style and an solid layer shaped to the background like I usually do. This is mostly experiments in techniques-how I get there more than how it actually turns out.
Anyway, here it is.

Okay, here's another couple of pages from the Fundamental 11 story. I backtracked to the title page so the second one will be that. I'm doing it a bit out of order so now you'll get to kind of see how the process was like with Democratic Empire 2. lol
I made some radical changes to the title page. In the original, the title covers up a good bit of the first panel. I didn't really like that or how the English title was placed right over the Japanese one. I "restored" the underlying art by copying and pasting some things (the most obvious in the woman's face taken straight from the second panel), I recreated the chalk board using noise, gradients, and some blurring and sharpening effects. I think I got it to where the chalk board is nearly indistinguishable from the original. I put the title up in the corner which I think is a much better and aesthetically pleasing location that does not cover up any of the artwork.
On another note, I've already decensored all the pages-not nearly as difficult as it would be if they were solid black bars but still a semi-tedious process.

A couple more single frames. The second one is actually a bit of a collage-I took part of another frame on the page and arranged it over the main frame I was using.
Both are from this month's issue of Comic Rin.

Well here's something particularly simple that I added some color to.
Edit: Now another one that took a bit more work.

I'll probably continue with Fundamental 11 at some point, right now though I've recently discovered a manga with a loli x shota focus-and I'd really like to see someone translate it at some point, but in the meantime I'll just colorize a few of my favorite bits of it.
