I haven't been around for a while and I didn't contribute much art-wise during my last period of sharing but I've been working on a new project and wanted to see what people thought of it since this is kinda ground zero for the target demographic.

A little background: I'm aiming for a futuristic sort of Megaman.exe/Tron Bonne feel to the setting rather than a full on human shes more of an advanced android. This has the added benefit of avoiding any conversations about age and sexual content (as well as several technical hurdles I'm still struggling with.) There's also a larger male character I designed but I's still playing with his size in relation to her. I originally designed her without the little pink skirt but I added it recently just to give her a touch more "girlyness."

Thoughts?

I think that Yen has definite potential. Smile I like the little pink skirt and the costume design in general. I would suggest a little color to her white boots to tie in better with her suit - even a lavender or black edging would be better that plain white IMHO. I would like to see Yen from behind -ya gotta have a little peekaboo of her bottom under that skirt! Laughing I'm a fan of Tron Bonne so I support your goal. Hope Yen has a cute face because sooner or later we want to see what's under that big stylish helmet. Good luck!

Fogbank, I'll work on getting you a couple of close ups Wink I try not to focus too hard on certain parts of the body because neither I or my co-creator on this have the rigging skills yet to get these built without seams in the joints so it's taking a bit of fancy designing to make them less obvious. Where do you think the color would look best on the boots? Her face is very minimalistic for now to minimalize the risk of an ugly face.

AnoNJG, I'm glad you like her so far. You're absolutely right about the number of polys. The problem is we're both using laptops and the program we're using (anim8or) dosent render very fast once you start adding lights so we chose to go the low poly route, we're aiming for a "High level PSP or mid level PS2" level of detail that should be easier to render without looking too shabby.

She feels too cold, unless that's one of her features. If not, would there be any way you could add to her design's personality? If showing more of her face (or even making the large visor slightly transparent) happens to be out of the question, maybe add some sort of emotional indicator on her? Perhaps a digital graphical display or large glowing futuristic "mood ring" on her chest. I don't know. Looks good so far, though.

Yeah actually she is supposed to be a little impersonal (cold would also be somewhat acceptable to describe her). During the course of the story the male character thinks she's flirting with him but can't be sure because of it, causing him to have vivid fantasies.

I have brought up the idea of taking the helmets off both characters at some point with my creative partner, so that may happen at some point. It's just a matter of making sure we both agree on how they'll look and what's viable between our skill and what's technically possible within the program we use.

Oh you want a suggestion for the boots? Sure, I would try the black chevron on the front of them (like Yen's chest decal) and that light lavender color. Give her some white or dark-colored panties for the peekaboo factor since she wants to keep her partners attention on the fight - at least initially! Ha ha. Wink

Okay, I put some color on the heels of her boots and I'll put the decal suggestion on the to-do list. Right now I'm working on designing and building the face under her helmet, it's a lot of work but it's pretty clear people feel it's an important thing so development will take a little longer.

As for the panty idea I have to explore that a bit more. The characters were designed to be robots/synthetic beings so underwear wasn't really a consideration. If I do it I'll have to change a few things to accommodate that... ohh! I just had an idea while I was typing this! It's amazing how the mind works.

At the same time With all this extra work I'm finding it necessary to come up with another simpler and quicker to complete production that will will come before this one. Fingers crossed!

Oh, WOW! dude thanks! I never would have expected fan art! Pardon me I'm a little giddy since it's my first spontaneous art gift! And, really well drawn too!

Ahem, well then allow me to say that at present Yen's face is about 40% complete. I dont want to show it just yet though because I'd like it to be the best it can be. I had to model a lot of things for the first time that I never did before. I couldn't just slap a texture on her face and call it done because the amount of lighting and shadow would give it away instantly (plus I cant animate textures in the program I'm using).

With that said until I've completed the modeling for Yen I've gone back to basics to create another story that will be easier and hopefully faster to do in the meantime. Here's a sneak peek. I'm going with a more cellshaded style with this one.

I actually love the low polygon count on the models because I am a big fan of efficient design and high frame rate over polycount when it comes to rendering in real-time, particularly for video-games. For porn, however, I encourage a smoother, higher polycount model for single frame renders.

She looks just like an idea I want to develop for Capcom, a battle-ready Roll. Roll really needs to have her own episode in the Mega Man X series, but I digress.

I really, really like it. It reminds me of a Knight Saber in loli form.

I had about 4 or 5 different influences and the Knight Saber armors were definitely in the mix. I had references for Virtual on, Megaman Zero/XZ/EXE, Tron Bonne, as well and I would have gone for an all armor style but I thought it might seem odd if characters couldn't do oral in an erotic scene.

There was a Japanese artist a few years back that was actually trying to create a Roll game there were mock screen shots of it and a robot mistress or two for her to fight too, but I guess he gave up on it because I never saw it released anywhere and his site disappeared.

As for the low polygon count, I agree with you on the efficient design part sometimes I look at older games and sit amazed at what they were able to squeeze out sometimes which probably effected my decision to go this way. I was even seriously considering not using an AA filter to get that "game cutscene look" but it was way too jaggy in test renders. Smoother characters will come in time though, I'm still fairly new to 3D (you wouldn't believe how close I came to doing this either as flash or 16 bit sprites! I may even mess with them again some day) I'm aiming for video though, and hopefully it's going to be more enjoyable to see in motion.
