And here we have it, well, most of 'it', I still need to add crouching, crouching from run, landing, skidding, sliding, idle frames and damage, but this is enough to work with for now, right?.
The white version is just for looking, the other two are the default outputs which I guess are what we want.
I suppose I should identify the frames.
1: Idle
2-9: Walking
10/11/12: Jumping up,transition,fall
13: wall jump brace
14-21: Run, should break naturally from walk
22/23-24: Running jump, transition to regular jump fall.

Well, as it stands nothing ever came out and the last post was back in March, but hey, if you want to take my sprite and do something small with it to prove you can, maybe I'll get back into it.
as it stands, it's way to much work to justify if I havn't seen anything from the other parties.

I have written a small game engine in DirectX that will suit this game. It has both 3D and 2D capabilities and works with DirectX 9.0c fixed functions (no shader language stuff). In Layman's terms; it will handle drawing and animating 2D images
DirectX perfers to use textures whose width and height are powers of 2 (2, 4, 8, 16, 32, ..., 256, 512).
I have adjusted my engine to use the non-standard size but it may not be compatible with some older hardware! Do you think you can adjust your images in future to follow this rule? You can make its height 128 instead of 100, even just adding 14 pixels of blank space to the bottom and top. The width of 64 per frame is perfect.

I've added some functions for controlling and animating the player. Currently you can run and activate the jump animation. I have not joined up the first and last (take off and land) animations, I will include that in the next update in which all animations and controls will be present.
I have made a 3D background for the game, sorry for the poor quality, I am not great at using 3DS Max yet
I am thinking we could have 3D backgrounds for the whole game, it would be quite interesting, but 2D will also work if you prefer.
I do hope you are still active here, or I may have to go and start my own project instead
