Which is why I suggested light pencil strokes... it's easy to clean up and you can really get some practice down. And Catboy, while your style is truly unique, it is definetly obvious that it hasn't been fully developed, yet. Your characters could really come to life if you tried more with the figure exercises. I spent a day doing nothing but draw those frames and I saw barely any improvement... then, after a couple weeks, I saw my skills get dramatically better. I could even draw a mediocre chibi!! w00t!

Lol you mis understood what I said nya. I do create light pencil strokes, but without erasing every time until the line is perfect It becomes hard to create an inking of crisp lines, when your picture is made of of whispy, very loose ones. I'm also out of paper currently nya, so I've been having to practice in notebook paper which hurts my eyes to draw on lol. I've been meaning to make a trip to walmart.

I have no idea how I feel about this image nya. I think it came out ok. Though I notice several things I could of done better to give it a less flat look, and other things.
I tried out several styles all at once >.> The ink blotches you see in some places that I couldn't quite clean up are the result of trying to ink across lines that aren't quite straight and hesitating, holding the pen there to long nya. I also have a serious issue drawing straight lines but I couldn't get anything straight that I could use when drawing them.
The overall result is Cute trainer posing for pictures so he can have a rare Pokemon.

Cute Catboy...
Magic Lollipop: You cut the feet... The arms are too long and the face isn't enough symetric!! ...
Still, the overall isn't bad... But I always have the feeling that you could do much better...
I think Sparkster gave you the Best advices... I cannot say better...
But I have some few Ideas:
-What about using a regular to trace straight lines for the objects?
-Maybe you should draw your lines faster...
If you trace them too slowly it'll be very imprecise.
-I also think that you should try to draw your characters way smaller...
They seem to be giant stretched shotas sometimes... 0_o
Would you please try those 3 things for your next drawing?

Those eyes... so souless... I can see what you were trying to do with them, but they don't even have pupils. O_o And yes, your characters do seem rather long. The clothing also looks slightly better, although the creases are a tad too deep. Overall it's not your best, but it's not bad.

Nothing else to say about it...
By the way, the eyes seem Oki for me... I like the way you drew them, you just need to put the shadow into them...

Well, I think some of the problem is just with construction. The head should be used as a tool for measurement of every other part of the body, so your proportions for the torso are actually correct, a little over three heads long. I think the problem arises in that the eyes are are too high up, the reality is kids eye lines are located actually below the halfway point, now since anime eyes are huge it alters it a bit, but still, the eyeline should start low and the go up and you should have more cranium. Your legs should probably just end where the paper cuts off, they're too long as it is.
That said, keep practicing, you are getting better.

I drew this for my cute boyfriend nya. I know it's not spectacular and needs work but I figured I'd post it here for advice for redrawing it for the 4th time.
Skin tones, more about angles, lower body, ect. Also the bitmap is not allowed so I have to post the somewhat pixelated jpg >>

Well, rather than write a whole bunch of stuff that'll be ignored, I've put together a quick reference to general principals that I hope is easy to read and understand. These are strange things to get used to when you first start using them, but after a while they're just second nature. To be entirely honest, I actually had to stop and think about quite a few as I don't even think about them any more.

No
No it isn't.
It's entirely obvious that you still aren't constructing your drawings and are just going straight for the finished product. Nobody is good enough to get away with doing that except maybe the great masters.
Do yourself and my sanity a favor and just try drawing a head the way I showed you without trying to disguise the shape with an elaborate hair extension.

I did draw it specifically the way you said >.> Don't be a twat and call the way I draw hair an elaborate cover I just happen to like to draw hair that way nya.
Seriously before you go out and acuse me of lying you might look over the thread and refresh yourself of the fact that for some reason when I trace and use frames the head almost always comes out the same or worse nya. But What would I know? I'm just the one who drew it, clearly I'm just lying and you know all, you can read minds across the internet, and if something doesn't work out specifically the way it does for you someones not doing it at all.
For your information I redraw that 4 times. I add hair and details to every one cause I get bored as fuck repeating the same process, it's simply how I aleviate boredom. I'm close to telling you to go fuck yourself since you have no basis for calling me a liar nya, not that that's stopped anyone lately.
