Language pack issues

I have a problem getting the japanese language pack download.

I have XP proffessional and when I try to install the language pack it asks for my Office install disk. I dont have an office disk and when i try to DL from the Windows Update web page it wont offer a Japanese Language Pack for XP pro. Is it hopeless or can I DL from somewhere else?

Sry for the text wall. I have been trying to change over for a while now. Missing out on just too much.

BTW I never had office and when I put in the pro disks it says wrong disk re-enter. Crying or Very sad

Hmm... Normally, Windows should ask for the XP cd and service pack cd, but not office... Tell us what you did when trying to install the languages packs.

You don't need a language pack. Only windows 2000 needed that.
The only language pack relevant to what you are saying would be the language pack for office XP, not windows.

To change your locale, you only need your windows cd.
