 Newbie with a joke for everyone |

Hi Everybody,
For my first post, I'd like to share a joke.
In a small town of about 100 people, there was an optimist. No matter what you told him, no matter how bad it was, he would always say "That could have been worse." Now the townspeople liked him, but they wanted to play a joke on him. They all attend the single church in town, so they arrange for one of the townsfolk to stay home.
The optimist arrives at church and the service starts. He notices that the missing man isn't there and inquires to some people, "Where's Fred?"
The men closest to him pretend to be shocked and motion him to whisper. One says quietly, "Didn't you hear? You know that Peter was suppose to be in the city until Monday to get supplies for his store? Well he came home early last night and found Fred in bed with Peter's daughter. Peter got his gun and shot Fred dead."
The optimist is stunned and they think they got him and are about to tell everyone when the optimist says, "Wow, that could have been worse!" They ask him, "How could it be worse?"
The optimist says "Well.... if Peter had come home Friday night, I'd be dead."
