MERRY CHRISTMAS! |
Quote |
Hello folks and Merry Christmas! Thank you for your nice comments. I haven’t been posting much for the past half year or so and that’s because I was spending a lot of time caring for my Dad who was ailing in hospice care since May. While he had been deteriorating slowly for years it was turned more serious this year. I found it hard to get inspired to draw after spending two or more hours every morning and evening with him. It was emotionally draining. He passed at the age of 88 in early November and I now find myself with so much more time…
Two weeks after Dad passed I suffered a ruptured appendix, had an operation and spent some time in hospital. It kind of reinforced the idea that we’re on this Earth for a limited time so I got focused on drawing. Here’s what I’ve drawn in the past six weeks or so. I wanted to showcase as many of my Hotwater girls as I could so you’ll see some variety here. Happy holidays!

Thank you for your wonderful Christmas gifts for us untalented. Have already been aware of what you are now talking about, but life must go on even if you no longer have older relatives left. I wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year, as well as many joyful drawing times. Thanks again Fogbank!

My Sincere Condolences On Your Loss And Remembrances Of Your Tribute Picture For Your Mom (Also With Lily)
We Are Getting Older And Our Health Is Less Then Perfect As We Go On In Life And I Think Back To 2 Years Prior When
My Own Health Was Poor And How I Made It Through Gall Bladder And Pancreatic Issues. It's Good To Know That You
Are Still Among Us For At Least The Moment And Hopefully For Much Longer.

Truly sorry for your loss. I had the same thing happen with my father. After work, I'd head to the hospital where he was at just to spend time with him. When they felt him well enough, he went to a local rest home. Again, spent each after work time visiting. He finally passed at home, where he would've wanted to go. Mom is in a similar situation. Having a burst appendix certainly didn't help matters.
Just a reminder that we are all growing older.
I see Lily paying her respects. Very lovely.
I see topless lemonade stands work well for Alegra, with assistance from Naomi and Gloria. You know, Naomi could have them help out with her own massage stand at some point! Oh, is that the big guy from the storyline?
Rosie should've invited Ayessha to assist. That way, they could double their candy haul!
Cute moment with Mandy and Justin, as well as a nice memory remembered when over Thanksgiving.
Finally, Bianca looks so lovely in the pale moonlight.
Glad to see you're updating again. After the year or so you've had, I'm glad you're drawing. I honestly thought you'd retired.
Cheers,
BW

My condolences, Fogbank. Life can be hard at times. Its always been that way. Make the most of what you can and bring joy where you can. That is something you're very good at, Fogbank. Thanks for all of the beautiful thoughts you've shared and inspired over the years. You've made this world a better place for many.
I loved Sassie's reason for giving thanks most of all - something of beauty and joy.

I am so sorry for your loss. Losing a parent or child is the one thing we are never prepared for. It hits you hard and the pain that comes from it takes so much from us. Time sometimes heals, but what I have learned is that the memories of all the good times supersede the sadness.
As for your own personal health, please don't rush anything. I felt I was invincible but my appendix also needed to be removed in emergency surgery and I was out for almost 6 weeks.
Your picture of Lily in the graveyard is very emotional. I take it your Father was Robert and Anne your Mother? I very moving tribute!
Thank you for all the work and beautiful stories you have created...A fan since almost the beginning and I look forward to many more years of your thoughtful and yes I'll say it again....beautiful art work!
May you be safe and happy as we head in a New Year.
Merry Christmas/Happy Hanukkah ---
Your friend
Mustang

So sorry to hear about your loss. Having gone through it myself I can tell you the pain does lessen in time (it will never really go away of course). But in time you remember more of the good than the bad, the joy and love you shared more than the loss. You take the time you need to heal. We'll always be here for you.
