Are you using Windows 10 N version? Maybe installing the missing media player part is fixing your issue. I remember that I ran in sth similar...Just look for what is missing in an N-Version of the OS and maybe it fixes this issue...
I'm not. I don't even know what causes the issue to begin with. A friend of mine was able to have everything working properly but couldn't have it function normally on a clean install on another desktop. For my part I used several different versions of w10 I acquired. I since put the trial and error behind me but I'm sure I'll throw myself at it again. But for now I've simply got no solution.

So he has a new update on his fantia page. Game should be out pretty soon. If I had to guess I'd say it'll be released by the end of July. But he's updated his fantia banner. Looks like his old Mama game from a few years ago. Though I've never seen that artwork in the game, so if I had to guess he's working on a part 2 to that game?
EDIT: Looks like it's part of the same game and not a preview of his next, but it probably won't be released this month. Maybe next month but usually it does not take this long to begin with so who knows.

I had similar issues, but I got them to work on Windows 7 by using something called "DxWrapper":

You'll have to fiddle around with the .ini file's settings and make sure to use the ddraw.dll file to get the scenes to work properly, but it does work. Changing the "Dd7to9", "EnableDdrawWrapper" and "ConvertToDirectDraw7" settings in the .ini file from '0' to '1' generally worked for me most of the time, so that may be a good start. Otherwise, experiment and make sure you are using Japanese system locale.

Well im on win 10 and sometimes had same problem and not sure if it helps you but running the game as admin solved black screens for me .-.
