Post Hello, I like retro loli Quote
I'm Jay and I'm mostly into 80's and maybe 90's loli, and loli content with characters from that time. I'm hoping I can somehow find other people in my boat.

My username has to do with really old classifications/tiers for lolicon (heidi-complex/heicon, alice-complex/alicon, and of course lolita-complex/lolicon) that can be found in volume 2 of Cybele, which was the publication that kinda helped get the ball rolling for the 80's loli boom. I also go by "Jay Hei" in reference to heicon specifically. I don't know how many people on this forum are interested in this niche, but I hope I can either find some or I can get people interested!

Welcome to LAH, Heialilolicon! Or Jay, whichever you prefer.

Retro isn't the biggest theme we have here. We do have some older works, and people request follow ups on them periodically. Getting video rips of stuff from the 1980s-1990s isn't easy. Only so many VHS tapes were converted. I think it's easier to get scans of manga from that time or more recent fan art based on it.

You might find some other fans of work from that time here. Of you might turn into our resident expert if there aren't any here already! I'm curious - what are the different definitions of Heidi complex/Heicon and Alice-complex/Alicon vs. the Lolicon that we know now?

Post some of your favorite material and you may just spark fresh interest in old favorites! It's good to have people who know the history of the hobby.

While you're here, remember - above all, have fun!

(And be sure to review the "Rules and FAQ". That's important, too.)

I think discussing the actual definitions would break a site rule, haha. But basically, "Heidi complex" is in reference to Heidi, girl of the Alps. "Alice complex" is in reference to Alice in Wonderland, and "Lolita complex" comes from the book Lolita. Envisioning the girls in each work, you can get a good idea of each category. The "Father of Lolicon", Hideo Azuma, described himself as lolicon in Cybele. Nowadays every category is covered by just the lolicon label, but I think the distinctions are kinda cute and if they had stood the test of time they could've been useful in finding specific content. What's funny is some of what was considered "lolicon" back then is barely considered it today. There's a post on the e-hentai forums covering Cybele's history where I first learned of the topic, and it's stuck with me since.

I'm no expert, but I'm much more used to the lolicon scene from the 80's at this point, with the concepts and styles in it. It's all definitely from before my time, so I'm hoping other people can find the appeal in works (particularly the doujinshi) from that era, too. Just because you weren't around for it doesn't mean you can't like it.

The magical girls from 80’s Studio Pierrot shows (even though I haven’t watched any in full) like Creamy Mami and Magical Emi, Minnie May from Gunsmith Cats, A lot of the ones from old hentai (Cream Lemon, Mahou no Rouge Lipstick, O-parts: Oman (which my icon is from)). I just found her but I really like Isami Hanaoka from Tobe! Asami, too. There’s a lot I like but I’m kind of drawing a blank, but some of my favorite doujinshi are from Studio Sample and Studio Awake, which I think should give a good idea of what I like. I’m not picky, though, as long as they’re small and cute.

I get what you're trying to say about the Heidi-complex, Alice-complex, and Lolita-complex. Stages in development, low to high. The irony is that classic Lolita-complex might get booted from "Little Angels" into "Angels".

I recognize maybe two-thirds of the manga and anime you cited. "Gunsmith Cats" is cool. Girls, guns, and explosions - plenty of action for all! Also great car chases. It'd make an awesome movie adaptation.
