I don't really want to type it all again so I;ll just copy pate the info from my website.
Ever wondering why I call my self a pirate and stuff?
Well, it is because I take part in world wide file sharing system called DC++. You can share, search and download any files from people all over the world. The best part is that DC++ is 100% legal program. It's up to you what files you share or download, if you share/download copyrighted or illegal files, you are the one who breaks the law.
Anyway, all you need to use DC++ is IP, about 5GB to share(can be less but I recomend 5), and hubs(servers). There are public hub lists that come with DC++ so all you have need is about 5Gb of share.
*About sharring.
You can share almost everything. But system files like windows folder and such are forbidden in most hubs because there is no use for them to anyone. Also videos with rape or pedophilia are forbidden in few hubs. Share files like games, movies, music and other useful stuff, .iso files make very good sharing, as they take up much space and is most useful type of file transfer. Fake files and dublicates like 2 copies of the same file under different name(big files) is forbidden in all hubs. To add folders to your share go to file>settings>sharing. After you add the files they will be indexed and that might take several minutes.
*About .iso files.
.iso files are virtual cd images. A .iso file contains a cd in an archive that can be used as virtual cd. To do that you will need a virtual cd-rom program. I suggest using daemon-tools, it is a virtual cd-rom emulator and you can run .iso files like real cd. Yes, you can run games that require cd without having an actuall cd in the drive. Cool, isn't it?
*About hubs.
To search and download files you have to be on a server. To view public servers go to view>public hubs. Then wait a bit till the hub list is being downloaded. After that you will see a whole list of hubs, join whatever you want. Some have higher, some smaller requirements. You will find some hubs better after a while, to add hubs to favourites type "/fav" in the main hub chat(1st windows that opens when you join a hub). When you will join a hub, it will start to load up userlist and overall hub share. Overall share can be from 50Tb in a bad hub to 900Tb in a good hub. You can also be in multiple hubs at the same time. I suggest max 3 hubs. Now when everything has loaded up you can use the search.
*About search and download.
Click search and a new windows will open. There you can type in what you want to search, choose filetype and filesize limits. Then hit enter and look what other 10'000 users have for you. Now you will notice that by each result there is a nuber called slots. Well, each user has a slot limit that means how many people can download from him at the same time. If you see that he has 0 free slots that means that you will have to wait in line to download. You can change your slot count in sharing section. If you wan't to download multiple files from one user the files will queue. You can set file priority in queue.
Now when you know some basics about DC++, you will probably download and use the best version of it. The best version around is called Strong DC++. It has a lot of advanced features that regular DC++ doesn't have. The best advantage of Strong DC++ is segment download.
*About segment download.
You can download 1 file from multiple users at once. Like a big .iso file. It might also boost up your download speed several times.
