Hi there !

Yep, that's right, I'm currently making a flash game featuring our very own Feather-chan. Laughing

This was inspired by two things. The first is a flash game named "Babysitting Cream". Only, with less furry and more Feather-chan. The second is because I want to play with Feather-chan, a feeling I'm sure you all share. Razz

The result is this project : a flash game on a Visual Novel basis where we'll be able to do a lot of things with Feather-chan. In Love I'm almost at alpha stage and will release a playable version as soon as there is enough content to do so. In the meanwhile, here's a demo showing the interface, graphics and touring most of the location that will be available. There is a bit of an ending to the demo. It's up to you wether you find it or not. Wink

It comes in both .swf and .exe version, so use whichever you like. For the .swf, you need flash version 10.3 or more. Previous version won't be able to play it. .exe should work in any case.

This is still a work in progress, barely reaching alpha stage, so graphics are still unfinished and/or subject to changes.

Game will feature, among other things :
-Save and load with four slots available. Currently disable for the demo as it's not long enough.
-Feather have stats that you'll need to raise in order to unlock event. Be too eager and you might end up in trouble. Razz Demo don't use the stats.
-More locations with swifter transitions and mostly based on interactivity to trigger events.
-CG's for some events, especially the naughty ones. Laughing But not animated. More trouble than it's worth. Crying or Very sad

With this demo ready, I got everything I need to start on the alpha. Will deliver a first playable version as soon as I can, but I'm doing this on the side and I'm new to Flash, so please be patient. Smile

I'll update this post with new version of the game everytime it's ready for an update and use the thread for both keeping you informed and get feedback, especially on bugs. Demo should work fine, but feel free to notify bugs that you might get.

Thanks to Sat for letting me use Feather for this game along with testing and to ult_combo for testing through prototype phase.

I'm also including one more feature that should make the game that much interesting : time.

Events will consume some amount of time and you'll have 30 days to play with Feather-chan.

I plan to make it so that some events will be time based and/or random as well. Still need to figure out the details, but I think I should manage. Still, until confirmation, those last two should be considered "planned feature". Coding stuff can be tricky at best. Now I understand why ult_combo spend his days and night in code. Crying or Very sad

lol Laughing. Yeah, then when you lead the development of 3 huge (nearly endless) projects and all of them are behind the schedule, plus you keep getting side-tracked with moderating (SO, LAH) and contributing (LAH, GH, SO), putting up with university shit and planning to take part into 2 coding events in the next month, you kinda need to fulfill 36-48 of work/day. Razz

Note: by "lead" I mean carry on my backs, of course. Basically as you're doing with this project. Smile

thanks. I'm learning the coding part as I go here, so I tend to be extra-carefull and not trying to make too complicated things right off the bat, but still make mistakes here and there. While working on the alpha, I noticed I made the game engine needlessly complicated. Removing those extra bits made everything easier to handle, from managing the branching to the save/load feature. F-chan annoy 2

Still need to check if it'll work as intented with the new clock feature, but given how it react to stats, should be good.

Keeping you guys updated : alpha is officially on. So far, intro is 80% ready and is roughly 140 lines so far and counting. Feather Kawaii 3; Beside that, I mostly worked on Feather's base graphics who now have several expressions.

Should complete the intro soon and after that, will be able to work on events and progress that much faster toward an alpha that I can release here. Will still probably take a couple of weeks at the very least.

I might be needing a few more testers up to that point. Both for helping with debuging and for spellchecking the texts. Given this is an amateur project, I don't aim for perfection, but I'd like to at least get rid of the too obvious and basic english mistakes. Feather Kawaii 3;

Good news, I managed to set up some trigger based on time and randomness. Will still need some testing with some more content, but unless something goes horribly wrong while adding content, this confirm random events and time based events as features. Feather Kawaii 3 Also throwing in random time based events. Very Happy

Alpha is progressing nicely, intro is done and with those triggers tested and running, I'm now ready to get to some content, which mean that we're one step closer from a first playable version.

Still require quite some work, though, so don't expect it before a few more weeks. Smile

Because of work starting again, I had a bit less time to give to Feather-chan lately, but still manage to put a few hours into making this game everyday. It's mostly writting and putting in content right now, with the occasional graphic upgrade here and there to break the monotony of working on just one aspect. Those who peeked in my artroom knows what I'm talking about. Laughing

A first alpha release is getting closer, but I'd like to have enough content to let you have a fun first time with Feather. So I'm mostly adding base events in most location for now, then some more interesting events in a few location. You'd think adding content is the easy part of making a game. Well, it's not. At least if you care for that content quality. :p

Might be talking to myself here, but eh, it's fine. I'm a bit crazy on the edge anyway, so I'm used to it. :p Anyway, for those interested, here's a few features that I end up including :

-Some events will be one-time only. This will mostly concern a few "first time events", like first time going to some location and such. This is mostly for flavor.
-Being too bold or eager might lead to a game over. You'll need to get Feather comfortable before having your way. Still, she's a forgiving girl, so you'll be able to try and fail without too drastic consequences.
-As I mentioned, stats will be hidden. But yes, you'll have a few ways to get a general idea of how high (or low) they are.

And a few more things. Some other, I consider trying to do, but won't because it would be way too bothersome for the scale of this game. I'm already ahead of what I planned at first, to be honest. Feather Kawaii 3;

You could have maybe different dialogue or reactions depending on your gender. Besides, being called "he" and "him" was a little irritating when I tried the demo. Not all of us are guys. That's right in "things I consider trying to do, but won't because it would be way too bothersome for the scale of this game".

My choice to make the main character male was based on the fact that most of the lah community is male. This way, the game have better chance to appeal to a larger audience.

Also, making a gender specific version would be too much time consuming for an amateur game I do on the side. Especially as it wouldn't just be replacing the "him" with "her" and such, but would require rewriting all sex events, making more iteration of those with more scripting down the road. Not mentioning CGs that would need to come up in female version as well.

So I won't do a female version. At least not right now. Once this is done, I might add such an option, or even making a female version of it, but as of right now, I won't make any promises regarding that.

At best right now, I eventually could make it futa and just change the he/him, but that would be a rather cheap fix...
