All right Lunatsuki, I will offer up a suggestion.
How about two sisters being playful around the swimming pool (or bath if you feel like making them nude). One is a couple of years older than the other. One girl has her back to the viewer so we can see what a nice butt she has. She could be pulling the strap of her sister's bikini (or if nude, splashing her with water). The girls hugging would be fine too. TY!
And another idea - more of a funny one this time. This is a two panel picture. "Catgirls - fantasy vs. reality". The first picture has a catgirl in a dramatic action pose with a sword and a ripped ninja outfit with a burning building in the background and enemies around her. The second (reality) has the catgirl asleep, curled up on the couch with a smile on her face. Maybe someone nearby saying that she sleeps 18 hours a day - wonder what she dreams about?

Eh, both ideas are interesting in their own way, will work on that and see what come out of it.

Alright, sorry for the delay, I was too busy lately to work on the request until yesterday.
Went with the neko idea, hope you'll all like the result.

I was considering the subject of a combatant nekomimi just yesterday. I know it's not a very original idea, given the saturation of catgirl ninjas in both western and eastern cartoons, but I find it interesting that you did these panels during such an exact time.
We must be catching the same waves.
I also happen to be a fan of Wonderland (that place in our sleeping minds) so I like the theme on more than one level.
Thank you for showing us!

Oh yes I do, Lunatsuki! Very nice visualization of what I had in mind.
I like the special effects of the moon and the castle roof added to your ninja catgirl. She has a dynamic pose which is a great contrast to her asleep, face-down, on the couch. Her master (?) has a suitable baffled look as he looks down on her napping. Very cute. Thank you for doing this!

Glad you like it
It was an interesting request to work on. Still need to work on some better way to do the inking, though, because right now, it makes the pre-colouring far to long, but I can't use magic-wand + paintbucket, it always leaves either some untouched ouline or goes way too far. Right now, the pre-colouring is what takes me the most time to complete, more than the actual drawing or inking using photoshop.
If other artists have a few tips to share regarding the inking, I'm all ears.

Cute picture, thank you for it!
The coloring is a hard one for me, i'm way too slow in it. If the selecting method is too complicated, than i use an overpainting technique. On a new layer i create a bigger shape with the base color, out from the contour lines. I add the tones on this spot and work out everything. And then i erase the
unwanted parts. It's not a quick way of the coloring, but i like to use it.

Regarding the colouring, when using photoshop, I usualy make use of the parent/child layers. For example, I'l make a layer for the kimono on that last pic, then put the base coulor for the kimono, making sure I'll stay right in the lining. The color can be off, it's not really important. That is what I call "pre-coloring" as it's mostly define the color zone.
After that, I create another layer that I'll make child to the first so my brush will only paint on the colored zone. It's like permanent selection. By making several child layers, one for each tone of coulor, I can do the couloring rather easily as I just need to fill with the base coulor if different, then add a few shades and shadows. The upside of a multilayered technique on couloring is that you can easily correct mistakes on a layer without damaging the others.
The pre-colouring takes some times, but once its done, couloring is fast enough. What makes it time consuming is that I need to be accurate when defining the zones and with my current inking method, it takes too much time as the magic wand won't be acurate enough to prevent me to fine-tune the basic coulor-shapes. I could get around with using harder lines for the inking, but I don't really like the results as it makes the line a bit too sharp and pixelated.
Well, there's no right or wrong in drawing techniques anyway, I mostly seek to experiment various techniques so I'll find one that would balance overal smoothness and to-do time.
Thanks for your insight, in any case.

Been a while since I posted anything there. Well, been busy with work lately and now got free time, but mostly use it working on my game. Still, while I'm getting a playable version, here's a bit of Feather-chan art you'll see in it.
Well, first is not so new if you played the demo, but improved the eyes for a more natural look. Second is her "happy" expression. I'm actually quite happy with that one.
Colors aren't quite finished, but got a lot on my hands and as I might still adjust the size during the course of the developement, i keep the shading for last as it would be too frustrating and time consuming to redo it all If I change her size.
Tech info for fellow artist that might be as curious as I am when it comes to drawing : I'm using Illustrator for the "inking" as vectorial drawing provide both great control over the curves along with size flexibility. Can make her bigger or smaller without losing in quality. Colors are done with photoshop as it allow me more control over shading than illustrator and I'm more comfortable using it.

Still working on adding content on my "little" game. Keep working on various things aside from just that, including graphics. Finally completed Feather-chan's colouring, so here some eye-candy to make you guys and girls wait with what should be close of her final version along with her "tender" expression.
Hope you like it.

Linking my FFXIV version of Feather-chan here.

As always, feel free to comment/discuss. :p
For the curious, adding the roughs as well. Did the lines on illustrator, then added them up, adjusting when I need to so it would fit (my scannner seems to act funny lately) and finally getting all the lines on photoshop for flat colouring first, followed by layered colouring.
All in all, took me around 8/10h, maybe.

^ lol same. Traps wearing mini-skirts are always hot. But I guess that won't happen to Feather-chan so soon.
Nice work on that Feather btw.

Thanks, both of you.
Though now, I wonder if that's because I made Feather-chan somehow boyish ?

↑ No, you made her quite girlish that's why I'd love to see “her" package. If she looked boyish I wouldn't be interested
