yes the plot of the show is that Jimmy Kudo a very well known high school detective and his girl friend go on a date to a theme park, at the theme park someone is decapitated(yes the first episode shows this...), jimmy solves this case but is suspicious of 2 guys in black who were also on the roller coaster, so he follows them and see a something take place but doesn't notice the guys partner come up behind him and knock him out and force him to take an experimental poison, the poison shrinks him down into a kid, and he takes the name Conan Edogawa and moves in with rachel(ran) to be near her father(also a detective), in an attempt to find the guys who did this to him so he can return to his normal self

right now there are 652 episodes(i think) 15 movies, a few live action episodes(maybe even a live action series...) a bunch of OVAs has been out since like 1996 and has entered its 21st season in japan. unfortunately the series only lasted 6 season and 6 movies here in the usa
