Post LM's Loli art Quote
I decided to make a thread rather than flooding the coaching one.

Well This is my first picture that I ever coloured, It looks OK when your zoomed out but when you zoom in you can see the crap everywhere. The problem was that I completely forgot to use layers until about 3/4 of the way through so I just left it and kept going. So it ended up being shaded all on onw layer. Although it didn't turn out as bad as I thought it was going to.

Feel free to say anything...good or bad

It's through mistakes like that we learn haha. But even so, it's looking good! I'm barely beginning to draw, myself, so I don't know much, but I really don't see anything here to complain about, lol. Kawaii =)

I am not an artist, so please accept my humble opinion.

it's look nice, but I think her face is a bit strange. But she is kawaii ofc.

It'll take me a while to get them coloured but I'll get there.

There first one is really strange looking and I was really considering putting it up at all Shocked

Well, one thing you can definitely do to improve is to start building heads as objects rather than using a flat shape.

As a rule, I tend to start with a squished sphere for the cranium and then 'drop' a mask halfway off it. This is a great way to work as it gives a 3 dimensional jawline automatically.

I'm including an example I sketched up a while ago for someone else, why bald though? The simple answer is that I find hair is easy to hide poor head building behind. If you can get a feminine look without hair then you're definitely doing it right, or at least on the right track.

Hehe, keep drawing and you'll improve... You 're obviously on the good way imo >_o

Still... I'm just going to say that if those girls you drew are supposed to be lolis, I guess you should start to give them loli's face.. And not woman's one Wink

Except if it is an intentional choice Smile

I agree, your art's improving! Great job =)

The problems I would point out for you are the following:

Going down from the neck, to the shoulders is a little odd! Try looking in a mirror to see how it should slope. I commonly take photos of myself with my cellphone as reference.

The inside of HER left leg on the first picture is sloped in. Unless she had the muscle their removed, it should be going the other way lol.

The elbow area could use more definition and maybe be raised? It's hard to tell where they are hehe.

IMO, the belly button could be higher. It usually falls between the top of the hips or right above the hip line.

The knees are also too low and the top of the legs are too long.

And last, the hands should end (NOT INCLUDING THE FINGERS) about crotch level. and the entire hand itself (including the fingers) is usually around the length of someones face.

Hope this helps! Don't get discouraged lol, I know it's a lot to think about but I'm sure you'll improve quickly =)

Thanks for being one of the brave few that atleast post their drawings lol.

The first one makes me think of a loli Mihoshi, lol. The second of Umi. They are really cute!! You've got a good grasp of sketching, hehe. Hope I can learn to do as good.

I do that sometimes...I thought I was just getting a little strange, guess not.

Anyway the past week or so has been very hectic for so I haven't really had a chance to do anymore or post anything for that matter. But it's all slowing back down so I should be able to get back to work soon.

Forsaken, I haven't really thanked you properly yet...if you can thank someone properly. That is a fair bit to think about but helpful none the less and I thank you once again.

Well, thanks everyone for the comments/help!!

Hey, it's good to see you're back!

The first thing I have to say about your pic (in regards to CC)... perspective!

Her whole right leg/buttcheek is much much MUCH smaller than it should be. It's dead center of the pic so it should be slightly larger, and the foot should be even bigger because you would want it to appear as if it's the closest thing to the "camera".

The leg joints also seem to be dislocated lol.

It's great that you're trying more advanced poses (ones like this are hard for me) but you need structure!

I know it doesn't look pretty having a bunch of sketch lines of the body structure, but, practicing body form is the most important thing to improving. So rather than jumping right in to line-art, try starting out with the basic "building blocks" of the body =)

You have a great starting point, you just need to build up to the more challenging pictures.

Keep up the good work =) it will all pay off!

As forsaken said, build the drawing before putting down the final lines.

\/ 5 minute example

Just practice doing figures like this and you'll see improvement in no time

Well, don't expect instant results but you'll get there.

Drawing at school = Win! =P
Oh, you drew a hard perspective there >_0

Mh, It seems you gave a lot of attention in your drawing.
Maybe your main problem is to visualize the entire drawing...

I would suggest you to draw less bigger or maybe to return the page you draw on (and hold it in front of a light) to see how it looks when it is inverted. Smile
